Inktober Day 6 - Drooling
Hey, what is up people it is October 2018 day, six and
Today folks we're doing a drooling
Yeah, man
So it's day six and we're doing drooling and drooling can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people
I mean, it could be a dog drooling it could be you know kid drooling after some food. Uh
yeah, I mean it could be anything so it was kind of
Hard to think of a good idea, you know
But I think I came up with something good
So let's just continue the narrative and see what we come up with
What do you think?
Odds are I probably switch up the narrative ended this week?
So I kind of wanted to tie it back to the first drawn with mushrooms
And I said hey, what can I do? What can I do what they do? So I said to myself
Hey
You know, I would like a feel of Totoro for some reason and I
thought about that one classic shot of Totoro like a Theo at the bus station waiting for something and so I thought I
thought I thought maybe we can have our characters just kind of sitting and waiting for something or they're looking for something and
They don't see
What's behind them? And the thing that is behind them is drooling
It's kind of company anyway
but the reason another reason why it is something creepy again is because I kind of wanted to
Do something with Halloween really to tell the truth? I
Do like October. I think these have been amazing challenges?
But I kind of miss I kind of want to do something Halloween. Does that make sense people gotta hope so
anyway
this time I
Think
I'm really happy with what I came out with. I think the design of the pig character is getting better with every instance
I think I'm getting more confident with using the pen and ink not I don't have that kind of hesitation I had before
I want to do something also to where I had like big contrast between the foreground and background
And I said if I put this kind of creature whatever that's drooling in the background
Might make it all shadow like a sieve away and that a provision in program in the light. That would be a nice interesting contrast
So that's what I think that's what I did so
I was kind of worried. How can I handle the inking part that I remembered? I have markers. I have some nice Copic markers
Yeah, if you like poop markers
You get kind of scared about using them because they're so expensive but I said to myself look I'm not using these things anyway
so I might as well just jump in there and just
Slap a bunch of paint on it. So
What can I say about this droid I didn't get too crazy with the
Patching or line work. It was really subtle this time though subdued I probably could have done more
but because I'm so tired and I had
Basically had to rush this drawing out. It's hard to tell by looking at it, but I actually had to rush it out
I
didn't have time to experiment in ways that I wanted to but
The next drawing is gonna be really simple. So I'll have a little bit of a
Barely a little bit of a break. I don't know, but hopefully I'll have a little some time to do some
Exercises. I'm trying to learn how that hatch and do things better. So right now we're just filling in the shadow of our main characters
The yard is making a oh because
I'm using a marker. I was worried that the paper is not so good that I have
It tends to plead I found that out so I put a nice little
border around it with black ink and then from there I went in in get markers, so
It doesn't make sense now, but it'll make sense a little bit. You'll see when the marker comes in
So now we're just filling out the background
I kind of wanted to have a little bit of a interesting texture to the bottom of the shadow
I said let's put some extra eyes in there because like just having the one creature creature there
It's kind of cool
but I like the mystery of a
couple more like a whole lot of them and art characters is being totally oblivious to it because they're too interested in this one of
mushrooms
but the umbrella
shapeshifter character, it's always oh
He's a scary man. So he he doesn't suck you see something's going on
So here we have I'm just going in the black and I think once I started putting in the black
It really started to come together
You can really see unfortunately could see something lines
From the marker if I had more time in bitter the tears, I think on Nick I would actually watch him
My used whiteout together I actually painted overnight when I was Margaret, so I use the whiteout to fill it
A little bit of accents things like that
Yeah
Cab came out nice. Hopefully you guys like it. I hope everyone else having a good intro like I am they took
2018 is definitely been challenging but I like our challenges. So that's what makes it fun. So
There you have it my
inktober day six Troy
Alright folks if you like this and you want to see more things like this in the future
Let me know and also if you're doing a Cobra - let me know in the chat. What are you doing there?
You haven't comes what techniques are you using? Are you getting any inspiration from what I'm doing as well
so
Because that's it
Take care, and I'm going to sleep
